My Mission

There is so much that is lovely to see, and there is so much that I would like to express about that loveliness, that a place for collecting my work seemed a good way to satisfy that goal.
I love the lusciousness of forms in Nature, and the pleasing interplay of colors, in the abstract.
I will caption each piece with a title and date. Some works may have commentary.

My abstract digital drawings are sometimes about color interplay, and other times about the expressiveness of line. The digital works are often the result of impulsive experimentation, while some compositions have prescribed designs with some mathematical precision. Many are the result of happy serendipity.
When I was a teacher, one of my favorite books to share with my second and third graders was the story of the Lupine Lady, Miss Rumphius. The author, Barbara Cooney, based her character on a real woman, Hilda Hamlin, who spread lupine seeds around her village on the coast of Maine. The fictional Miss Rumphius is told by her grandfather that no matter what she decides to do with her life, she must "do something to make the world more beautiful.”

There are many, diverse ways to make the world more beautiful. This, I hope, is one of those.
